Congratulations to James, who celebrated 90 days of a fresh start at TPH on 4/22! James is a real go-getter who takes his recovery very seriously. He is very motivated to have a fresh start, and charges into each new piece of his recovery with excitement and passion! We have no doubt that we will be celebrating 6 months with James in no time!
Also, we are so thankful for those who participated in or donated food for his celebration dinner with his housemates and TPH leaders! These guys LOVE homemade food. So if you happen to bake an extra batch of dumplings, an extra pie, or something super yummy like that, feel free to drop a note or message to one of the Pavilion pastors, who would gladly get it to the house for these fellas to enjoy.
So much has been happening at TPH!
But the biggest announcement so far?
On January 7th, 2019 the Potter’s House achieved it’s next milestone, and we are proud to make this achievement public. We had the honor to celebrate our first participant finishing his 90/90! Zach has worked extremely hard and has made personal strides in his recovery. The pastors were extremely excited to celebrate this milestone with Zach. TPH is also extremely grateful for individuals in the community who believe in celebrating the success participants achieve. We are grateful to have partners who make these events special by making personalized cakes to honor their achievements. This is the first milestone of many that God is going to bring through the Potter’s House participants.
If you feel God leading you to support this ministry in some way, please let one of the Pavilion pastors know.
As always, continue to pray for TPH participants and leaders. Satan would love to wreak havoc, but greater is He who is in TPH!
There is so much to be excited about at The Potter's House! Our first official resident has been living here for just under 2 months. In addition to full-time employment, he has been actively attending all sorts of recovery meetings, Bible studies, church services, etc. Watching him grow makes it easy to see why God cares about this particular mission.
We are getting phone calls from various civic leaders across several counties inquiring on the process of recommending someone for the house. This is great news! We now have the opportunity to spread hope beyond just our own community!
Our life coach has been busy training how to effectively lead in the recovery process. A willing spirit is all God ever asks, and our coach certainly demonstrates this on a daily basis. It is so rewarding watching God grow a person into someone that can lead others to Him. In addition, our coach is constantly updating things on the house; we can hardly stop him! He is so motivated to get everything completed, we have to tell him when to stop and take a break!
That leads to the final point:
We still have lots of needs. Those of you who have been following us know it takes ALOT to take a house from scratch and make it into a house of recovery for 12 men. You've been walking the journey with us, and have even seen the progression. But we still need you. There are so many "little things" that we need--wall decorations, silverware, etc. They cost so little, but mean so much. Imagine walking into a home with empty walls and how sterile that would feel. Or having only a few plates to share among so many men. Would you please take a moment to browse our "needs" list, and pray about how you can help?
Thank you for all you do!
A New Pot to Shape
Today we officially became a life recovery house!
While our life coach has been living at the Potter's House for a month or so, getting it all ready for its new residents, we had not yet taken in anyone else. And today, that changed.
We now have our first resident who has moved into the House! The mission that God began with a vision a little over 6 months ago has now officially begun! Of course, there are still many beds to fill, and lives for God to have the opportunity to change. But today marks the day where all the preparation finally comes to fruition, and we begin the real work. Please continue to pray for this ministry. Pray for the residents who we will come in contact with. Pray for our life coach, the ministry team. Shoot, pray that God will provide for the needs that seem endless! And if you're looking to do even more than pray, please consider supporting this ministry, either by purchasing some of the needed items listed on the website, or through a financial contribution.
Praise God, He has seen us through this entire process! And today, we officially purchased our house! The papers were signed, sealed, and delivered to the courthouse for recording. God has been so faithful throughout this process, and we know He will continue to help us as we remodel and begin accepting residents.
And Another Variance Hearing. . .
We had our final variance hearing before we open in front of the state today. We were granted a year to figure out how to finance and install a sprinkler system in The Potter's House! This is great news, because we are legally allowed to take in residents as soon as the paperwork is signed and insurance is changed over. God has been so good, and slayed every giant in front of us the whole way. Thanks to all who continue to pray for this vision to become reality!
Jesus' Outreach Continues. . .
A picture from our interview with Outreach Magazine this morning, who is doing an article announcing The Potter's House this summer. This is such an amazing opportunity for God to show what He has been doing in North Vernon on a national level! We are so blessed to be a part of this ministry!

Outreach Magazine, a national monthly publication, has asked to interview us about the Potter's House! This will be an amazing opportunity for God to tell His story of hope through unity! The more His message spreads, the more other churches may be motivated to unite in other movements across the country. Perhaps we are witnessing the start of a great Revival!

He Supplieth Every Need
More furniture! Nice furniture! Trent Miller, a local businessman, offers to sell us quality used furniture at a cost WAY below its value! Suddenly, we found our house is partially furnished before we've even asking for help. God is so good!

God, Making a Name for Himself
God is amazing us! It seems like every day, He is giving us more opportunities to tell about everything He is doing here in NV. A newspaper from the nearest large town ran an article in its Sunday paper (!) detailing this journey to a recovery house! Every opportunity God gives to spread His message of hope is a delight. We are all so incredibly grateful that He has allowed us to walk this journey as He amazes us all! Read what The Republic wrote here.

The NV community is getting excited! Today, someone approached us and offered $1,000 donation to purchase furniture for the Potter's House! Having barely even expressed the need for furniture yet, we are continually reaffirmed that when God wants something done, He will take care of all the details. All He has asked of us is obedience.

Word Is Spreading
God is on the move! After catching wind of everything God is doing in North Vernon, The Wesleyan Church wrote a feature story for its wesleyan.org publication. Now, other churches are able to see how God works through UNITY to spread His message of hope and love! You can read the article here.

Hallelujah, We Found It!
After praying for weeks for God to lead us to the right home, John Raymer notified us that he was selling a home. Several of us met and felt like this might be the right place. We prayed, our trustees prayed, our churches prayed, and John prayed. When John offered a price well below market value, we felt like that was God affirming this was the house. So, a price was set, an offer made, and an acceptance given. Hallelujah! We now have a house!

. . .and Now Everyone Knows!
The financial contribution and vision was announced, to both the entire factory as well as the North Vernon community. Now, everyone knows that God plans to continue what He started several years ago--giving hope to a fallen community!

A Vision was Cast. . .
We met with our anonymous factory donor, who agreed to make a $65,000 donation to bring this vision to a reality!

An idea for a recovery house was pitched to a local factory's HR department.
